Would you like to achieve or extend a Miles & More frequent flyer status? If you don’t have quite enough Points or Qualifying Points, you can convert your miles specifically into status points.
What are Points and Qualifying Points?
Points are status points that you collect during the respective calendar year to achieve or extend a frequent flyer status. They are credited on flights with Lufthansa Group airlines, co-issuing Miles & More airline partners, and Star Alliance flights.
You also need Qualifying Points to achieve your frequent flyer status. You can only collect these on flights with Lufthansa Group airlines and co-issuing Miles & More airline partners.
How exchanging miles works
As a SWISS Miles & More cardholder, you are able to exchange up to 25,000 of your miles for Points and Qualifying Points once per calendar year.1 You will receive 20 Points and 20 Qualifying Points in return for 5,000 miles.

Frequently asked questions on redeeming miles
You can use your miles for flights, upgrades to a superior travel class, product awards and vouchers. Alternatively, you can exchange miles for Points and Qualifying Points or simply use them by paying with MilesPay.
With SWISS Miles & More credit cards, you automatically earn miles with every card transaction. The rate at which you earn depends on the specific card:
- SWISS Miles & More Classic: up to 1.5 miles for every CHF 2 spent2
- SWISS Miles & More Gold: up to 2 miles for every CHF 2 spent2
- SWISS Miles & More Platinum: up to 2.4 miles for every CHF 2 spent2
Points and Qualifying Points count towards achieving or extending your Miles & More frequent flyer status.
- You collect Points on flights with Lufthansa Group airlines, co-issuing Miles & More airline partners and Star Alliance members.
- You only receive Qualifying Points on flights with Lufthansa Group airlines and co-issuing Miles & More airline partners.
You need both Points and Qualifying Points for the status qualification.
Exchanging miles can be useful if you only require a few more Points or Qualifying Points to reach the next status, and you want to achieve your status without additional flights.
Yes. You can make flexible use of your miles. As long as you have sufficient miles, you can decide whether to use your miles for rewards, for MilesPay, or to exchange them for Points and Qualifying Points.
No. Once miles have been exchanged for Points and Qualifying Points, the process cannot be reversed.
Miles can be exchanged once per calendar year. Up to 25,000 miles can be converted into Points and Qualifying Points1.
Miles are generally valid for 36 months and will expire if they aren’t redeemed within this period. As the holder of a SWISS Miles & More credit card, it is possible for you to prevent mileage expiration.
